‘What’s On’ & ‘Need to Know’ Campaign 2024

The Student Communications Team runs two key Instagram Story series to engage students:

  1. What's On (Mondays) – Promoting
    upcoming student events for the week.

  2. Need to Know (Wednesdays) –
    Highlighting student services and support.

While these stories provided valuable information, their original designs were unengaging, with cluttered text, inconsistent formatting, and unclear calls-to-action (CTAs).

Approach

  • I scrapped the outdated, block-text for resized imagery from existing campaign designs, creating a cohesive and professional look and feel.

  • Tailored messaging to suit Instagram’s fast-paced story format, using short, engaging captions that immediately grabbed attention.

  • Added concise, action-driven CTAs (e.g., “Register now” or “Reach out”) to boost engagement and conversion.

Featuring tailored Instagram story content with concise copy and action-driven CTAs lead to a 151.7% increase in impressions and a 17.4% boost in engagement when compared to the previous year.
